DioLaz Canada Picosecond Laser – Limited Warranty Policy
Product Description: The DioLaz Picosecond Laser is a high-end laser device licensed by Health Canada for tattoo removal and skin rejuvenation. It delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses at (likely) dual wavelengths (commonly 1064 nm and 532 nm, and possibly additional wavelengths) to break up tattoo inks and pigmented lesions, while also treating wrinkles and acne scars with minimal thermal damage. This system is a Class IV laser and comprises a main console with laser source, an articulated arm or fiber delivery system, and a handpiece that can be fitted with various spot size lenses. It may include additional accessories like dye wavelength conversion handpieces or a foot pedal. The device is designed for clinic use to remove multi-color tattoos and perform advanced skin treatments. This warranty covers the entire picosecond laser system, including the laser engine, delivery arm/handpiece, and all standard accessories provided.
Warranty Term: 3 years from date of original purchase for the DioLaz Picosecond Laser system (complete device and included accessories).
Coverage Details: DioLaz Canada will repair or replace any part of the Picosecond Laser system that fails due to manufacturing defect within the 3-year period. Coverage includes:
-
Laser Engine and Cavity: The picosecond laser’s gain medium (e.g., Nd:YAG or equivalent) and pumping mechanism (flashlamp or laser diode pumped) are covered. If the laser fails to produce pulses at the specified energy or duration due to an internal defect (e.g., a laser rod or pumping diode failure, or a Q-switch malfunction), we will repair that. The pulse duration and energy output are critical specs; any substantial deviation caused by hardware fault is covered. The optical cavity components (mirrors, lenses, Pockels cell/Q-switch, harmonic generation crystals for 532 nm, etc.) are covered for defects (for instance, a cracked crystal or degraded mirror coating not due to misuse will be replaced).
-
Beam Delivery System: This device likely uses an articulated arm (with mirrors) or a fiber to deliver the laser to the handpiece. The entire delivery system is covered. For articulated arms: alignment issues, mirror failures, or joint problems caused by defects are covered (similar to the CO₂ laser arm coverage). For fiber delivery (if applicable): fiber optic breakage or connector issues due to manufacturing defects are covered. The handpiece at the end of the arm/fiber, including adjustable lens mechanism for spot size and any dye attachment (if provided to generate additional wavelengths, e.g., a dye module for 585 nm or 650 nm for certain ink colors), are covered against defects.
-
Electronics & Software: All control electronics, power supplies (including any capacitor banks for the pulsed laser), cooling systems (most picosecond lasers have internal water-air cooling), and user interface components (touchscreen, control panel) are covered. Software/firmware issues will be addressed via updates. If the device has a built-in calibration or self-test unit (some picosecond lasers have an internal energy meter for calibration), that unit is also covered.
-
Accessories: Standard accessories like the foot pedal, protective eyewear provided, interlock connectors (for room safety systems), and any included spare parts or tools are covered for functionality on delivery. (For example, if the foot pedal doesn’t function or an interlock plug is faulty, we replace it.)
-
Performance Guarantee: The device is expected to maintain its performance over the warranty. If you observe a significant decline in effectiveness (taking into account normal wear of consumables) due to a defect – for example, if the laser’s pulse duration lengthens beyond spec or energy is insufficient to fracture common tattoo ink despite proper use – that could indicate a defect, and we will investigate under warranty. Our support might involve verifying output with a power meter. Confirmed defects in performance metrics will be rectified by repairing or replacing components (optics, pump, etc.) as needed.
Exclusions Specific to Picosecond Laser: (Along with general exclusions.)
-
Tattoo Ink Reactions / Clinical Outcomes: While not a device “defect,” just to clarify – the warranty does not guarantee removal outcomes or prevent any patient reactions. Any issues on the treatment side (like ink not responding as expected) are not device defects unless traced to a device malfunction.
-
Optical Alignment from Shock: If the system is dropped or jarred causing misalignment of the laser (which could manifest as loss of power or inconsistent beam), that is user-inflicted damage and not covered. These systems often require careful handling. Always transport the machine in a safe manner; freight shock that is not due to our handling is not covered.
-
Environmental Damage: Picosecond lasers are sensitive to environmental conditions. Using the device in ways contrary to specs (for example, in an excessively dusty or hot environment causing clogging or overheating) could void coverage for resulting problems. Ensure adequate cooling clearance and dust protection as instructed.
-
Maintenance Neglect: Failing to replace consumables like deionizing filters or keep the cooling water filled (if user responsibility) that leads to damage (like internal corrosion or overheating) would not be covered. Keep to the maintenance schedule we provide.
-
Unauthorized Adjustment: Some users might attempt to tweak laser settings beyond factory limits or disable certain safety features (like firing the laser without the interlock or operating with covers removed). Any such activity voids the warranty, especially if it causes damage.
Service Procedure: Due to the complexity, Picosecond laser issues will require inspection by our technicians. We may attempt some remote troubleshooting (certain errors can be diagnosed via error codes). If a repair is needed, typically the unit (or the defective module) will need to come to our service center. We will coordinate safe transport. In some scenarios, if the issue is in the arm or handpiece, we might send a replacement arm/handpiece to swap out quickly, then you send back the faulty one (to reduce downtime). If a major repair is needed on the main unit, and if you are a high-use client (e.g., a busy tattoo removal clinic), we will do our best to expedite repairs. Turnaround times for picosecond laser repairs can vary, but we stock critical spares to meet our 10-year support promise.
As always, all parts, labor, and shipping for covered repairs are at no charge. We will recalibrate and test the laser extensively after repair (checking pulse width, energy output at all wavelengths, beam profile) to ensure it meets original specifications before returning it to you.
General warranty limitations and rights apply. Owning a DioLaz Picosecond Laser means you have invested in cutting-edge technology; our warranty ensures that any manufacturing issues will be promptly addressed so you can continue to provide advanced treatments with confidence.
